Underglaze Pencils L135
Underglaze pencils are a standard tool in working with ceramics, but they can also be used effectively with glass.
In this project-based lesson, we use a ceramic underglaze pencil to decorate coasters with ginkgo leaves. To begin, we prepare our glass to be both flat and rough, two conditions needed for optimal application of the underglaze pencil. Next, we demonstrate various techniques for marking the glass while maintaining pencil sharpness. The lesson concludes with firing instructions and firing schedule.
Designing and drawing with underglaze pencils is a great way to add a decorative touch to your glasswork. Explore the options with this lesson!
