In the summer of 2015, artist Narcissus Quagliata came to Bullseye’s Research and Education studio in Portland, Oregon, to create a new work of art in fused glass.
Although universally considered a master of this medium, he stated that his goal was to “go further than I have previously. To rival my best work, and then risk it by going further in order to learn more.”
Quagliata pursued that goal in a series of visits over the following 15 months. This is the story of how he pushed himself and the work that resulted.
